About The Little Lebowski Journey
What started as a strange little photo project slowly turned into something much bigger.
Over 10 years ago, as an ordained Dudeist Priest, I began carrying a small figure of “The Dude” while traveling the world. Much like a rosary or small spiritual reminder, the Little Lebowski became a way to pause, laugh, and ask:
“What would the Dude do?”
Along the journey, thousands of photographs were taken across countries, festivals, cities, mountains, beaches, deserts, and tiny forgotten corners of the world. What began as a joke slowly revealed something deeper:
people everywhere are searching for the same things — community, peace, creativity, belonging, and a slower, more meaningful way of living.
The Little Lebowski Project became a reminder to take it easy, meet strangers, appreciate simple moments, and find common ground across cultures. Over time, others joined in, sharing their own photos and adventures from around the world.
But eventually, new stuff came to light.
After years of travel, conversations, festivals, and studying sustainable communities abroad, the vision began evolving into something physical:
a real place where people could gather, create, learn practical skills, reconnect with nature, and simply abide together.
That next chapter is called:
The Abiding Grove 🌿
The Abiding Grove is a future community project inspired by fellowship, sustainability, creativity, play, food forests, maker culture, and the simple art of taking it easy.
Right now we are in the early stages:
building the community, hosting events, growing the vision, and preparing for the future land that will one day become home to the Grove.
And yes — the Little Lebowski still travels with us.
Come abide with us.
